Easter

Our Easter weekend included an Easter Egg hunt at the local park. Gabe was very happy with his loot of two eggs.

His age range was Pre-K to 2nd grade and he was a bit overwhelmed
with the other 500 kids also clamoring for eggs.

Josh, on the other hand, didn't have that great of a time.

Today, we had some friends over and had our very own Easter egg hunt, as well as a presentation of Resurrection Eggs.

For dinner, we made Easter Pie. One of my sister's best friends grew up making Easter Pie with her family. Every year, the Saturday before Easter, they invited friends to partake of it's goodness. 3 years ago I found that their son had divulged their "secret family recipe" online. It's become our tradition since.

More than Easter Pie and Easter Egg hunts, we're grateful for a Savior who lived again so that we may also live. We're grateful that we can become an eternal family through his Sacrifice and Love.

Weekend

We had a really great weekend. Brian had Friday off so we explored a new park in a nearby town and went to the Southeast Texas State Fair. I think we spent our children's inheritance on food, but it was worth the sacrifice because Brian ate a do-nut (how they spelled it on the sign) bacon cheeseburger. We'll tell the kids about that and my funnel cake when they're upset we only saved $30 for their college experiences. Saturday and Sunday our church held it's annual General Conference which was absolutely wonderful. My favorite talk taught me a lot about parenting and confirmed many things that I had been thinking about as a parent.

Sleepy Boys

We started the bedtime routine at 6:30 tonight. I left Gabe's room at 9:00 - both boys finally asleep. That's what I get for letting Gabe take an unusually long nap this afternoon.

...you know it has been a good one.

Mardis Gras Weekend 2011

Gabe stayed up in this ladder seat more than 4 hours. Aaron, Daniel, and Vincent took turns joining him.

Lizard costume. I'm not sure how a grasshopper shirt, dinosaur shoes, and pirate pants made a lizard, but Gabe was pretty convinced, thanks to Aunt Megan.

Josh enjoyed the festivities too.
