Gabe had his first adventure fourth of July weekend.
Wednesday, July 2:
6AM: arrive at airport, take 45 minutes getting ticket secured, even though the man from India told us earlier that morning (1AM) that we "were all set" after a scare with checking in online. Gabe is happy.
7:30 AM: Board plane. Gabe eats.
8:00 AM: get off plane, they need to fix something. Gabe is happy.
9:30 AM: Board plane. Gabe eats, sleeps. He's happy.
11:00 AM: arrive in New York city (it's funny how a direct flight from Michigan to Boston stops in NYC). Find out they sent our connecting flight on w/out us. Discuss with Delta customer service our options to get to Boston by 2:00... Gabe's happy-ish
11:45 AM: Take cab from JFK to Laguardia for a 12:30PM flight. Tab is on Delta, but the nice cabby makes it clear gratuity is NOT included in the voucher. The lack of shocks scare Gabe, but he's happy for the most part.
12:30 PM: Flight takes off w/o us. Gabe's oblivious.
1:30 PM: Board next flight. Sit. And sit. And sit. Gabe is NOT happy. He let's everyone on the plane know.
4:00 PM (time not a typo): Get off plane (still in NYC). Gabe's happier
4:15 PM: Board another plane. Gabe's happy.
4:45 PM: Plane takes off. Gabe's happy.
6:00 PM: Arrive in Boston - 71/2 hours ETA. No bags.
Thursday, July 3rd
2:00 PM: Bags arrive at Jenny and Ben's.
After the travel fiasco was all settled, we had a great time in Boston, being with Christina and Joe for their special day (honored by being the only non-Gabe person featured in the blog).
We left the morning after the wedding and arrived home to lots of family who came into town for Gabe and Claire's blessings (similar to a Christening) that took place in church the next day. Both sets of grandparents came, as well as the abuelos, Andrew and Ashley Garcia, Megan Garcia, and Justin (Megan's fiance). It was a splendid time.
Gabe slept all day Tuesday and Wednesday recuperating from his party life style.
